Norwood?s services are designed to meet the needs of people coping with all kinds of issues. Examples of these might include family breakdown as a result of a recent death or divorce, raising a family as a single parent, living with a physical or learning disability or having a child with a physical or learning disability, coping with physical or emotional abuse within the family unit, investigating fostering or adoption opportunities for couples or even just learning to manage a child displaying disruptive behaviour. Norwood provides care, understanding, assistance, advice and support to parents, children & families through our network of specialist services.
Services Offered:Formed in 1795, Norwood has evolved into the provider of a wide range of specialist services, delivered by over 1100 staff and supported by around 500 volunteers. These services cover five main areas. ? Ravenswood Village (Berkshire), three residential homes housing 22 children, 17 homes for 146 adults, day services, a hydrotherapy pool, coffee shops, stables, art and pottery workshops, and a centre for computer-based learning. ? Learning Disability Services offers accommodation for 116 adults with learning disabilities throughout London. ? Special Education Services for pupils with complex and profound learning disabilities aged 11 ? 19. ? Fostering and Adoption Services (including the Norwood Jewish Adoption Society) is the UK?s only Jewish Adoption Agency. ? Children & Family Services, including Centres in Hendon, Redbridge and Hackney, used by over 20,000 people each year, equipped with soft and sensory play rooms, toy libraries, safe play areas, family assessment rooms, therapy rooms, resource libraries and adventure playgrounds; and a respite care centre in Finchley.
